Offices can easily get overcrowded and in turn end up feeling oppressive. There are many different ways in which you can maximise the space you have to work with and doing so will mean that not only is the office environment far more comfortable, but that in turn your staff are far less distracted and therefore far more efficient.
Firstly, working on the layout can make a huge difference. As companies grow, often the floor plan remains the same with things just getting more and more crowded as new desks and the like are brought in. A simple reshuffle is often enough to help you maximise that space and using things such as room dividers can also help create the illusion of personal space even when there actually isn’t much.
Next, adding in items such as lockers can help significantly. It may seem counter productive to add in big items such as office lockers to a room that is already short on space, but doing so can mean that personal items are far more easily and tidily stored, taking up a vertical space as opposed to a horizontal one.
Tidying the office in general will often help create far more space than you might expect and having the right shelving systems to store your items will also help massively. Too many offices become cluttered simply because the storage solutions are wrong for the space and therefore totally impractical.
Ensuring you find the right storage is therefore one of the easiest ways to make sure the office can be as ordered as it needs to be. But having the rights units alone will only do so much. It is also very important to ensure that you regularly remove the clutter. Be ruthless and ensure that only the necessities stay, and by doing to so you may well find yourself with a minimalist office that inspires productivity rather than a cluttered mess which stifles it.
