Hair loss is a condition that is often associated with men. However, many female patients also suffer from the complaint and hair loss treatments such as Regaine for Women illustrate this point.Commenting on the issue, an expert has pointed out that there are many causes of thinning tresses among women. Speaking to American local TV station W*USA 9, Dr Monte Harris from the Centre for Aesthetic Modernism noted that it is not uncommon for females to experience thinning locks.
He also pointed out that there are many causes, saying: “It can be hormonal issues, it can be things related to grooming practices, it can be stress related or childbirth. It’s a full spectrum, and when we look at that in comparison to male hair loss, male hair loss tends to be hormonal.”Dr Harris also said that he sees women of all ethnicities and ages with the condition, whether it is in their temples or at their frontal hairline. He went on to claim that it is usually “readily reversible”.
Indeed, there days there are many hair loss treatments available for people to try. As well as Regaine for Women, there are many other offerings stocked by pharmacists. It is also advisable in some cases for patients to alter their behaviours
For example, W*USA 9 drew attention to the case of a woman who suffers from hair loss because she always wore her hair in tight braids. Michelle Levy was eventually diagnosed with scarred alopecia caused by grooming practices and stress.
She remarked: “For about five or six years I was dealing with hair loss. I actually had baldness, like my scalp was shining. There were areas with no hair.”As a general rule, experts recommend that women avoid putting their tresses up in a way that places too much stress on the follicles.
