International phone calls will soon be a lot cheaper for some customers of a leading mobile phone operators. Cheap international calls will be offered to customers of 3 Mobile as it will be cutting the price of calls to twenty-five countries for those on pay-as-you-go contracts.
Users will be able to make cheap international calls to landline numbers in places like Poland and France for as little as 2p per minute. When making calls to other countries such as Pakistan, this could rise up to around 6p a minute. Also included in this new deal are countries such as the United States, Australia, and Canada. Quite surprisingly howeveris the fact that the Republic of Ireland will not be included among the other twenty-five countries customers can ring at a cheaper rate.
Making calls to Ireland will remain at around 14p per minute when ringing landline telephone numbers, despite the country being located closer to the UK. In order to make the most of these savings, users simply have to enter a three-digit code into their phones before entering the number they wish to call in order to benefit from the cheaper rate. The company initially introduced cheaper rates earlier this year in April, however, this has now been extended to more countries.
In other news, 3 Mobile has also said more people are using online gadgets when using their mobile phones, meaning they need a stronger and more reliable internet connection. As part of a new marketing campaign the company has had a number of Human Hotspots set up in London and a number of other cities across the country. These hotspots are basically just people dressed in a skin-tight white suit, holding a Meerkat, however, they will be able to give people surrounding them free broadband internet connections via Wi-Fi.
