Trying to change your home to look more modern can be a very expensive task. Every few years, it is natural to not only get bored of the decor you have been seeing day in and day out for so long, but also to find that, eventually, that interior design that was once the height of fashion is now more than just a little jaded.
However, such changes don’t have to cost as much as you might think. For example, take bathrooms. Whilst it may well be nice to install a whole new wet room set-up with walk in shower and a totally minimalist feel, there are plenty of other ways to update the look of the room without spending excessive money.
Getting the minimalist look in a bathroom can be as easy as removing those bulky radiators and installing heated towel rails.Instantly, far more room will be created and they can even be placed in alcoves that were previously just wasted space. On top of adding in heated towel rails, simply buying some modern light fixtures and changing superficial items such as taps and mirrors can instantly change the look of the room without the excessive cost too.
It’s not just bathrooms that can benefit from such an approach either. Front rooms often just need a lick of paint and a reshuffle, whilst every room can benefit greatly from a change in flooring, taking up those tired and tatty carpets and changing them for whatever is the current trend.
Ultimately, not all of these changes even need to be done at once. Making these small changes over time will help keep costs low and you will no doubt find that doing those changes slowly makes the whole process far more rewarding too. Subtle changes here and there will serve to keep the house constantly evolving and in turn make sure that you are always excited about it and not just sat back getting bored.
